I have these headphones and haven't had any issues with the microphone. You might check your volume level or battery strength. I use my headphones with Aira all the time. You could also try Bose frames but they might be expensive.

I have a set of Bluetooth aftershocks titanium bone conducting headphones, and although they’re great for listening the microphone has absolutely no value. It is not useable for Aira calls, regular telephone calls, Siri instruction or ordinary dictation.
