Dear Listmates,
I just picked up a new GF cookbook at our city library that is a departure from the "same old stuff." I'm sure every GF cookbook author aspires to be different, and it is pretty hard to come up with something really new. I think Gluten-Free Flour Power manages to do that because it is a book of ideas and techniques applied to favorite foods that often not easily available to the gluten-free community. The authors are a duo who professionally develop recipes and train chefs. I think that gives them the ability to transform the familiar tastes and textures of wheat flour based foods into a very close gluten-free equivalent.
I don't write book reviews very often; however, I've written one here: http://bit.ly/GF_Bake . Look for the blog in the center of the page.
This is a book that I do recommend.
