I have a couple of questions.  I'm not sure what you mean about problems with Bluetooth and screenreaders.  I use several Bluetooth headphones and one keyboard with iOS and Android.  I also use two Braille displays and don't have any issues with Windows or iOS.  Could you explain what you mean by problems?  There are standard keyboards for iOS and Android which are considerably cheaper than the Rivo keyboard.  I just bought a Bluetooth keyboard a few months ago for about $30 and really like it.  It is really portable and doesn't weigh very much.  The keys are easy to identify.

My second question is there a particular reason you want an Android device?  If you are thinking of the Blind Shell then that might be a good reason.  If you are thinking of a plain android device then you will need to think about the following.  There are many Android phones which are cheaper than iOS devices.  I don't know how many of them come with keyboards.  You can use the TalkBack screenreader but depending on the phone you get you might have to install it which may require sighted assistance.  Some phones come with TalkBack enabled.  The TalkBack experience may vary from phone to phone.  The most consistent screenreader experience may be with Google phones like the Pixel line.  Google just introduced some cheaper Pixel phones so that might be an option.  I have also found at least where I live in Chicago I don't know anyone who uses an Android device.  I prefer iOS but that's my personal opinion.  You can give android devices a try.  There are many experienced Android users on this list and I would be happy to answer questions if you have them.  If you go with the Blind Shell I would be curious to know how it works for you.

Hi all,

I'm considering buying the Rivo2 keyboard. I love what this keyboard will do for me, with Android phones, which is what I'm thinking about getting.

However, I found out when looking at it, that it's a bluetooth keyboard. 
I thought it was A USB keyboard.

Now of course there has been a lag with screen readers and bluetooth.

I've not used this keyboard however. This keyboard is $300, so I really want to make sure that's no longer a problem, before spending $300 on a keyboard. So, if someone is up to date on bluetooth and lag with screen readers, I'd love to hear from you. Is it still a problem? If it is, I won't buy it.
