It's probably a function of the latest Win10 update.  Both the tech media 
and various email lists have reported search box issues with the update 
that has come out in the last several days.
So, it's not you or your pc that is at fault; it is the update which, I 
believe, MSFT is aware of.

Sometimes the so-called latest and the greatest doesn't live up to that.
