Assuming that OUTLOOK 2019 works similarly to OUTLOOK 2013, try the following simpler method:

1.	select the email, no matter in which OUTLOOK folder it sits, with attachments that you want to save.

2.	Go into your File Menu. ALT+f will work.

3.	click on "Save Attachments".

4.	you will then be put into a dialogue string, where you will see a list of the attachment(s) to be saved. Press enter on "OK", which will take you to the "Save Attachments" dialogue string.

5.	In this dialogue, you will be taken to the "Save Attachment dialogue string where you can select where you want the attachments to be saved on your PC/Notebook. You "may" be able to "rename" these files at this stage.

6.	The next step is to "try to find these attachments" where they've been saved - if you wish to send them on to someone else. ... just kidding! If you have selected the correct folder, they should be where you told them to go.

As far as I can tell, you cannot "Save Attachments" from within an email message. That might explain why you could not find how to save them. You just went to far along in the process.

Have fun and success - in that order!

Jim H

Subject: [VICUG-L] Saving Outlook Attachments

Hi All,

So I've installed Outlook 2019 on the Windows 10 computer I take to
work. It's a long story and not very relevant.

I'm trying to save attachments that people send to me. I was able to do
it once. I'm not sure what I did right that time. I'm hoping someone
here can help because I wasn't successful the rest of the time.

Here's what I'm doing:

* Open Outlook, press ctrl+y to get to the folder tree view for email,
navigate to the inbox, and press enter twice.

* Arrow to the message with the attachment, and press enter to open the
message.

* tab to the Attachment button.

* I'm not sure what the next step is. I've tried doing nothing to the
button, pressing space on it, and pressing enter. I've even tried a
simulated mouse click.

* The time I was successful, I think I hit down-arrow once from the
attachment button. a toolbar came up with buttons to Open and Save. The
rest of the time, I find myself in the standard Outlook tabs, like for
Message.

How do I make the Open and Save buttons appear consistently?

Thanks.

Ciao
