Double-tap and hold on the app with one finger until after the ascending tones. This places iOS into editing mode. Now, with the rotor turned to actions, apps can be selected, moved, and deleted. To delete, double-tap whilst action is set on activate. A window pops up with the delete prompt. Double-tap on ok.
