I have never had success using the double-tap and hold method and was so
glad when Apple added the other functionality. I for one would rather they'd
kept it going and have two means to the same end rather than removing it.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the suggestion. It works but the other way was better in my
opinion.

Diane

There is another way to delete apps if the method David outlined doesn't
work in your particiluar situation. Select settings, navigate to iPhone
storage, and double-tap that. Swipe right until you locate the name of the
app you want to delete and double-tap again. You will get a screen with
some options about what you want to do with the app. Select delete, and the
app should be removed from your phone. This is the only method which
currently works for me.

Thanks,
Dan

actions, apps can be selected, moved, and deleted. To delete, double-tap
whilst action is set on activate. A window pops up with the delete prompt.
Double-tap on ok.
