Hi All,
Having uninstalled some apps from my laptop to run the Windows 10
anniversary update, I am now in the process of reinstalling the most
important ones. One such is Dropbox. When I run the installer, I hear
the progress messages telling me all is good, but when I get to 100%, I
hear that Dropbox has encountered Error 2. The dialog has a Close
button, which I can click with Jaws. There's also a Read More About this
link, which I can touch on the screen but which doesn't respond to
tapping, Jaws, or anything else.
I found a forum discussion about Dropbox Error 2. Some people were able
to remove Dropbox hidden files by searching for "dropbox" in This PC and
deleting all the results; after that, they were able to run the
installation successfully. I searched for "dropbox" in This PC, managed
to delete most of them (some were reported as "not found"), located
another Dropbox item in c:\users\Ana\appdata\roaming, deleted that, and
still could not install Dropbox. I even tried Disk Cleanup somewhere in
there.
Has anyone encountered this problem? If so, how did you resolve it?
Ciao
