To save an attachment in Thunderbird, open the message, go into the
message menu (alt+m), down-arrow to Attachments (h), right-arrow once to
get to the attachments list. You can up and down-arrow through the list
of attachments. Once you get to the one you want to save, right-arrow
one time and down-arrow through your options. The first one is Open. The
next one is Save.
