Lisa,

I think I've always bought Kindle books from the Amazon website. I don't
remember whether I did it because books couldn't be purchased through
the app or because I just happened to find the books on the computer.
anyway,

the URL is
www.amazon.com/kindle-ebooks

It's been a while, but I think I bought the books through the website
and they automatically appeared in the app on my phone.

About Amazon and accessibility, a recent _Eyes on Success_ podcast says
the company has become very interested in serving customers who are
blind and low vision. The podcast included a phone number, but I don't
remember whether it was a general customer service number or a number
specifically for accessibility. The URL for the show notes and 30-minute
episode is
http://www.eyesonsuccess.net/show%20notes/show%20notes%201622.htm
I've never called Amazon about accessibility, but I have called audible,
which is an Amazon company, and they've been great.

Ciao
