In Canada we are told that in order to have the biopsy done you have to be
eating gluten at the time of the test (in fact they give you a diet with a
minimum amount of Gluten you have to eat).  There is a difference between
Allergy, Intolerance, and Celiac Disease... The difference is the symptoms
and the types of Gliaden you have a problem with.  Without further testing
you can't tell... Many people go on the gluten-free diet just because it
works and in most cases proving you have the illness is not the issue.
