From another listserve, I had an "off-list" response to a problem of mine with 
JAWS.  In his response, he signed off by saying:

"Joseph the free tech guy!
All are welcome to write me off list if absolutely any help is needed"

So, I suspect that Joseph would be willing to answer tech questions, even on 
weekends.  His e-mail address is:

Joseph was able to help me, has helped others, and has been relatively active 
on this other listserve.

I suspect it's simply an issue of market share.  We're a small market,
and we will buy their products regardless of whether they have
available weekend tech support or not.  I suspect we just don't have
the buying power to give all the assistive technology companies
justification to hire a weekend tech support person.  Sounds like a
great part-time job though for some enterprising person who wants to
offer generic screen reader, Braille notetaker, and other AT tech
support on the weekends, for a fee of course.
