Be a key part of BestBuy's e-commerce growth with the Profile 
Product Team.
This is a critical e-commerce position where you can apply your 
talents and
creative energy to deliver high-performing solutions at internet 
scale (top
10 e-commerce websites).  The Profile Product Team drives the 
vision,
strategy, customer experience and technical delivery for the 
profile
digital experience.  (core site, tablet and mobile experiences).  
Products
within this area include log-in, self-help, loyalty and 
preferences.

We are looking for a talented Senior Engineering Manager to lead 
the design
and development of key e-commerce technology initiatives.  In 
this role,
you'll be called upon to lead small teams of skilled developers, 
engineers,
QA, technical BAs to grow the team.  We're looking for a hands-on 
leader
that is involved in the day-to-day activities including: in-take 
sessions,
stand-ups, iteration planning, coding and design reviews.

*Ideal Candidates Should Have: *

   - A demonstrated background in working directly with tech 
leads,
   engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders
   - Creative and innovation-driven mindset with the ability to 
articulate
   engineering design strategies related to scale, performance, 
security, and
   usability
   - Ability to manage multiple projects while successfully 
navigating
   competing priorities, schedules, and resources
   - Knowledge of modern web development technologies: Java, web 
services
   (REST), NoSQL databases, continuous integration, and automated 
testing
   - Experience as a Technical Lead on a complex distributed 
systems
   project
   - Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (e.g.  Amazon AWS, 
Microsoft
   Azure, Google Compute Engine, OpenStack, Rackspace cloud, 
etc.)
   - Willingness to work with flexibility and coordinate on-call 
support
   engineers, including handling after-hours urgent work as well 
as normal
   working arrangements
   - A proven track record of recruiting and retaining top-notch 
engineers
   - Experience in Agile development methodologies - Scrum, 
Kanban, and/or
   XP
   - Persuasive written and oral communication skills
   - Passion for building top-quality products & services
   - Exceptional ability to collaborate effectively on 
cross-functional
   projects
   - Management experience

*Basic Qualifications *

   - Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business or 
equivalent
   experience.
   - 6+ years of progressive responsibilities in one or more of 
the
   following areas: application delivery; product design and 
product strategy;
   subject matter expertise in building Java based
   high-volume/high-transaction e-commerce applications
   - 6+ years' experience building web applications using 
Commerce
   Platforms (e.g.  ATG, WebSphere Commerce, Blue Martini) or 
Java/Spring/REST
   - 6+ years of demonstrated experience running large 
cross-functional
   projects; experience working with technical and business 
teams; web product
   or e-commerce experience (ATG Commerce, Search - Lucene/Solr, 
Content
   management systems).
   - 4+ years experience directly managing/coaching and mentoring
   engineers, developers.

*Preferred Qualifications*

   - Experience using version control systems such as SVN or Git.
   - Experience with bug tracking software such as Jira or 
ClearQuest.
   - Proficiency with UNIX/Linux command line.
   - Hands-on development experience to include: Java, Ruby on 
Rails,
   Python, PHP
   - Rapid UI prototyping, pairing with UX experts to develop new 
designs.
   - Unit testing, test-driven development or functional test 
automation.
   - Experience developing for mobile/tablet form factors.
   - Experience implementing analytics tracking.
   - Experience coding for web accessibility standards.
   - Experience with CSS, HTML, DHTML, XML, XSLT, JavaScript and 
Multi
   browser support; Source Control (CVS, or Subversion).
   - Familiarity with HTML5 and CSS3.
