Greetings,
One way somewhat long-winded but it works well is:
1. Open a notepad file, ensure wordwrap is **not** checked.
2. Access the folder, then for each file cursor to it, press f2 and select
the name.
3. Copy name to clipboard.
4. Whilst file name is still highlighted, change file name, suggest a
meaningful progression such as 1.mp3 2.mp3 3.mp3 . . . n.mp3
5. Switch to notepad file and paste the name, press enter for new line.
6. Repeat for each file.
7. perform action on renamed files.
8. Reinstate original names from notepad file into place where files have
now been copied/moved.
9. If necessary, reinstate original file names from notepad document.
