Hi Mike!

I feel your pain, ie convincing the club... Similar problems here with
financial concerns that necessarily arise from adding another monthly bill.
Such things do deserve attention, because ours is having to be rebuilt from
being damaged in a flood, which itself is no insignificant expense.
According to recent treasurer observations, more than half the registered
membership are failing to pay their sub, so doesn't that rather put the
handwriting on the wall? That's Economics 101. If there is no income, then
you can't keep adding commitments, hi hi.

There will be some recovery gained from insurance claim, but lacking free
labour can be a problem also. 73,
Dave

Subject: Re Yaesu DR1X Repeater

Well Neil:

I would just like to know a summary of its capabilities, if its a good
overall repeater etc.
I'm thinking of buying a Yaesu FT-1900R 2M mobile and I was wondering if
there are any capabilities of the repeater that the FT-1900R can take
advantage of.
The C4FM mode, do you have to have a special transceiver like DStar equipped
Icoms or would I be able to connect with a standard Yaesu 2M rig and have it
linked across the globe or would I have to use echolink, irlp etc?
We're very excited about this new repeater and look forward to its long
service but convincing the club to activate its internet linking service
might be another matter. :)
