Sherry:

You can remove your temporary files, but not your cookies, through the Disk Cleanup feature on your hard drive. To do this, you:

1) Go to My Computer and press the Enter key (I usually kept this on my Desktop, but if you didn't do that, you may have to go to either the search box or the control panel to find it.)

2) Use your Down Arrow key to find the "Local Hard Disk C:" drive.

3) When you have highlighted the c: drive, press the applications key and then use your up and down arrows to find the Properties key (pressing the letter p sometimes finds this more quickly).

4) Press the Enter key, then tab down to where your computer says "Disk Cleanup button".

5) Pressing the Enter key on the Disk Cleanup button will begin the process of finding the number of files, including the number of temporary files (in kb or mb) on your drive. After the list of items to clean comes up, if you *only* want to clean up the Temporary Files folder, uncheck all of the other items in the list that can be cleaned.

6) Finally, tab to the OK button and press enter. The computer will ask if you are sure you want to do this so tab down and press OK again.

Usually after this procedure (and I usually clean more than my temporary Internet files here), I will reboot the system. I hope this helps.

Hello all,

How can I delete all the temporary files using IE 11? I used to be able to do this easily in earlier versions of IE but can’t find where in IE 11. I don’t want to delete cookies, just the temp files.

Thanks,
Sherry Wells
