Hi Harry,

Based on what you just said, I don't usually leave my computers in sleep mode. Sometimes my work computer will go into sleep mode because it didn't shut down all the way. I tend to avoid sleep mode if possible.

Dan

Subject: [VICUG-L] interesting problem with computer coming out of sleep mode

Hi all,

Using a desktop computer, running windows 10, version 1803, and Jaws 2018, the April update.

I have an interesting behavior of my computer, coming out of sleep mode.

If I put the computer to sleep for like 5 or 10 minutes, and bring it out of sleep, it's fine, no problems with speech. However, I put the computer to sleep yesterday morning, about 530, and then, just now, early on Monday morning, when I brought the computer out of sleep mode, I heard the computer speak 2 words, then, I had no speech. So I had to do a hard shut down, but instead of the computer shutting down, it rebooted, and started just fine, and I had speech.

So, what do you all think about this?

Harry
