I think I have the same problem Dan does. Jaws is either too faint or I 
am too faint. This has been my experience since midway through Windows 
7. I know there's a setting that fixes it because I always stumble upon 
it eventually, but I have to struggle with this every time I get a new 
computer. I don't have an answer. I'm posting because I know the problem 
is real and so is the solution, but no one ever seems to know what I'm 
talking about when I ask around.
