I've never had good success accessing Google Docs with anything but 
Chrome and ChromeVox. With this combination though, I used Google Docs 
very successfully, and it was actually pretty cool to have two, three or 
four of us all working on a document at the same time. I know this 
doesn't answer your question, but it may be another option you haven't 
thought about.
