I have heard there is such a setting to copy you on your posts in 
gmail, but I don't use gmail that much -- so don't know if this is 
true -- or where it is.

Bill's solution is the easiest, also many mailing lists have a 
setting where your post is acknowledged with a mail message to you.
Explore the list's settings and see.
