I use a plug in called GContactSync in Thunderbird. I have it configured
to sync my Personal Addressbook with Google contacts. I add this plug in
to all of my instances of Thudnerbird, so I can use my Google contacts
wherever I use Thunderbird, e.g. Windows or Linux. I also have my iPhone
set up to use my Google contacts. There are other easier to use plug ins
for Thunderbird and Google contacts, but this was the plug in I settled on.
