Agreed Jim.  A long time ago, a police officer friend told me he 
nearly got shot because he was down on his belly closing in on 
someone and, because his antenna wasn't vertical, he missed an 
important transmission or two from others onsite.  That was analog F 
M and he said he was sure careful of his antenna after that day!
Missed info can be life threatening to cops and firemen of course.
