You're a glutton for punishment.   Why don't you get a couple of Dixie 
cups and a string?


Good luck with your microphone quest.   A couple of the stations who had 
heard you last week on 40 said you  sounded  better on the old mic. 
Sometimes trying to juggle cost, convenience of the setup, and audio 
quality  can be a chore.

Don't know about the impedance thing.      Just as an example, the 590 
manual says to connect  a mic between 250 and 600 ohms. Don't know what 
range is suggested for your  radio.     Hope to hear you again sometime.
