Hi all,
Do screen readers work on web TVs?
I just purchased a Panasonic TV with voice guidance (i.e., talking
menus). It's a TC-50AS530U. I'm still setting it up, so I don't have
much to report. So far, the talking menus for the TV work, but they seem
buggy. I'm not sure yet if the problem is me or the TV.
Anyway, this TV is a web TV, so you connect it to your home wireless
network, and it has web browsing and apps. One of the times the menus
stopped talking was when I tried setting up the wifi. The person helping
me told me the screen said voice guidance was not available for that
part of the setup.
My question is about the web part of the TV. Will I be able to use it if
I load NVDA on to it, or are these units not accessible? I'm still
learning about it, and I haven't done any experimenting. I'm posting
here mostly to find out if anyone else has or knows of someone who has.
Ciao
