I don't understand your question. The reason this has come up recently 
is because Eric Snowden, who used to work for the NSA, has revealed what 
the NSA has been doing. The NSA has been doing this for a while, and 
didn't just start doing it recently.

BTW, I don't understand what this has to do with the visually impaired. 
Sure, it effects us, but no more so than the general computer using 
community. There's also been a ton of information on this in the main 
stream press, so there's no need for anyone to hear about it on a list 
for the visually impaired. I'm sure anyone who's concerned about their 
privacy is already aware of this.
