Harry,

To add to David's post, the Victor Stream plays and records mp3 and wav
files. I've played and recorded wav files, so I know this for a fact.

Here's the user manual for the Victor Stream 2nd generation, which is
probably what your friend has. It's in English, but you may have to set
your screen reader to not auto-detect language; otherwise, you get
French pronunciation.

https://support.humanware.com/Site/Files/a/06cc20404d351cbaa2520fcd0d5adc3/cbc92f0f5ddf0a2a9870fd7bd6461a75/CA-EN-UG-Stream503%204.8%20Rev_21.htm

You can use the screen reader search command to jump to occurrences of
the word "wav" to learn more.

A note about the Stream, which probably also applies to the Trek, some
file types, like wav and mp3, work in most folders. Other file types
work only in certain folders; for example, txt, rtf, and dox only work
in the Text folder, and there may be one or two file formats that only
work in the music folder.

Ciao

Please direct any follow-up questions to this list and not to me personally. In addition there is a Victor discussion list on Groups.io.
