Are you working in Word? If yes, here are some suggestions:


* Try closing your document with ctrl+w.


* Maybe you aren't able to close your documents because your function 
keys are locked or switched to media, brightness, etc. My keyboard has 
thirteen function keys. The last one is a toggle for locking and 
unlocking the rest. If the function keys are locked, I can't use them. 
Other keyboards I've used do something similar in other ways, but I 
can't remember how right now.


* Sometimes when I'm having trouble closing Word files, I find that 
restarting the computer, restarting Word, or restarting the screen 
reader clears things up.
