Unlike google chrome you do have first letter navagation in fire fox.  I 
did add all of my links from internet explorer in to the side bar by 
using the context menu and going to properties for each link.  Now when 
I open fire fox I just press control b then tab I can down arrow or I 
can use first letter navagation just like in ie.  As far as down loading 
I do it the same way that I did it in ie.  I go to the down load link 
then go to the context menu go to save target as press enter then tab to 
save.  Then I press control j and I will hear the percentages.  I have 
set fire fox as my default brouser instead of ie. I did not like google 
chrome but I am a convert to the new and improved fire fox.
