I agree with those in the group who suggest a shut down and restart. That
should solve the problem.

Harry, try pressing the caps lock key just twice. This should, I would
think, disable your actual caps lock key. Of course, even if that doesn't
work just restart the computer and you should be fine. I won't even charge
you if the advice works, as I'd hate to capitalize on your problem. That
would be quite shifty of me.
