As some of you may know, apps release a sort of "what's new" file or
changelog, indicating what's been added or changed in the newest
version. You can read these by double-tapping on an app in the updates
tab in the App Store app on your home screen. Some are very short, such
as "bug fixes and performance improvements." Some are much longer,
describing specific changes made in the newest version. The Transit app
just released an update and it's the best "what's new" file I've ever
read. Here is the text.
What's New in Version 3.10
People have been asking us… “have you gotten a haircut?” Thank you for
noticing! Flattery will get you everywhere—except if you’re trying to
get to work. This month, we had a bug that caused the app to forget
where your work and home addresses were. Thankfully, the bug no longer
exists! Hopefully your job still does.
Now, as for that new haircut of ours.... perhaps you've noticed that we
seem more colorful these days? Well, that’s because we went to the salon
and spruced up our Notifications Center Widget. No longer drab and grey,
it’s now full of bright, dazzling colors to help you more easily
identify next departures for your local transit routes. That’s right,
Tumblr: bus-route inspired hair is 2016’s hottest trend. Just
remember—you saw it here first.
We've also removed a tap from the trip planning sequence to make your
trips 0.5s faster to plan. Talk about untapped potential!
Lastly, we added real-time for San Diego buses, Chicago Metra, Staten
Island railroad, and for Miami Dade buses. We've also added support for
Anchorage, Alaska as well as Scoot mopeds in the Bay Area. And if you
live in Chattanooga or Columbus, you can now buy bike share passes &
unlock your bike inside of Transit App. No more dealing with those
annoying kiosks. And no more carrying around those conspicuous bolt
cutters.
That's all for this week! Rate us five stars to unlock the cool side of
the pillow.
