There's a Kindle for PC app and a Kindle for Mac. There are accessible versions. You still have to purchase your books from the Kindle store.

Subject: [VICUG-L] Kindle App

Is it possible to download the Kindle app on to a computer and then purchase Kindle books and read/listen to them that way?
