I find reports from others that it's working for them to be useful. It 
helps me know if it's something global or unique to my system. More data 
points would also help the NVDA folks determine what might be wrong at 
their end.

What browser are you using? When you say you can't get the speech 
samples to play, what are you experiencing, silence, an error message or 
what? Havve you tried NVDA instead of JAWS yet?

For me, they work just fine on a system running Ubuntu, Firefox and Orca.
