Butch, a couple of questions about the mic and kenwood rigs.

1. wit hthe ts 590s did you try using e q to get the mic sounding 
better? My heil mic also sounded like well you know before I equalized 
it. Unfortunately with that mic the only way I could get it to sound 
good was to buy a used w2IHY box.

I don't suggest that for the mfj but wondering if you tried using the 
built in eq at all with the mic.

2. do you know if the pf keys work when you plug it in to a kenwood tm-v71a?

Don't assume they do because the schemes are different for the two radios.
