Bob, your feedback along with the information provided by Howard, makes it
quite clear that the response I got back from the MFJ help desk was
incorrect. 

Gee, you guys know more about our ham gear than the manufacturers!! <smile>

Ron,

The four buttons will work only on Kenwood equipmentt.  You program them
using the pf1-pf4 settings in the TS590 menu.
