Beth, honestly the FCC isn't the BATF, they really don't care about an 11 year old domestic violence arrest. You're really overthinking this. Even if you got your ham ticket under your future married name it is pretty easy to trace that back to your maiden name (marriage records are public as well) and the same thing could happen.

Oh I'm aware of the searchable archives thing, and it was amazing what I found when I Googled myself. Sometimes I just plain Google myself to see what should and shouldn't be there. The thing is that I don't want a family member writing complaints to FCC people saying, "Our daughter is (fill in blank) and shouldn't be doing ham radio. She is (fill in blank.)"
