I agree

The K3 with Hampod is a great combination, especially for setting up the
menu and configuration.
After that, there isn't much when you need to use it apart from signal
strength (if you are obsessed by this poor measure).
Using the Hampod with the Elecraft watt meter is also a very useful adjunct
especially as you can put two detectors into the meter.

Subject: Accessible rigs

Hello everyone .
As far as accessible rigs are concerned, I own both the Kenwood
TS-590s and the K3 with the Ham Pod. Both rigs are excelent value
for money and are great to use. Their over all quality as
Transceivers is brilliant. Not sure which one I like best.
The Kenwood TS-590s has its own voice module I had installed when I
bought it a little over 2 years ago.

The K3 can be bought with a 2 meter module and the Ham Pod Rob has
developed is a must have for several reasons. It makes the K3
totally accessible including the configuration menue. It also is
being developed to work with other rigs so will be a little box that
will be indispensible.
A Kenwood TM-V71a which needs its own Voice module will be needed for
2 meters which is why I decided on the K3 with the Ham Pod.

Most Icomm, and a broad range of Yaesu rigs have been made accessible
with the use of a "Universal QSYer" John Hansen has developed and I
have one I have used on an IC-706 and a Yaesu FT-100 very satisfactorily.
The QSYer also works with the Kenwood TS-440 and other Yaesu and Icomm rigs.

Hopefully this information will help Dustin and others.
Sorry if I have repeated previously posted information on the subject
but I thought my experience as a Ham who has used several
Transceivers with the Ham Pod and QSYer might add something to the
ddiscussion.
