45-minute session, psychiatrists have had their
fees slashed significantly by insurance company
reimbursement policies, according to the Times
story. The going rates are now set by
psychologists, social workers and talk
therapists, who, unlike psychiatrists, do not
have medical school training or the student
loan bills that would require them to charge higher fees.
