You'll get lots of opinions, depending on what people have and or like.
Budget may or may not be an issue for you.
Many people like the aclog software from n3fjp.
The Kenwoods get good reviews for accessibility and cost.
Depending on your antenna, an external tuner may be a good idea.
No need if you can resonate your antenna with the radio's internal tuner.
Just my opinion.
Unless the bands improve, you might as well use a whistle and a dummy load.
Things are sure dead at least during the daylight hours.
I don't remember HF conditions being this bad for this long, and I have been
listening for 48 years.

Subject: upgrading to general soon

Hi all,
I will be upgrading to general soon so, am wondering, What is recommended
as far as accessible radios for hf goes, and what about logging software?
Any recommendations on either of these would be greatly appreciated. Have a
great day.

Kind regards,
Ben, (KD8tIG)
