So far my messages, written in Windows Live Mail 2012, have not had the
extra MIME information. But maybe if I try to bold some text, it will have
to be sent in a different format that requires this type of encoding.
I didn't succeed in bolding anything, so instead I have switched this
message to UTF-8 encoding instead of Western European ISO encoding. I'm
pretty sure that if I wrote some stuff in Word and then pasted it into a
message like this, I would get weird characters. I'm only going to use this
encoding for this message. This has been a perennial sore point on this
listserv over the years.
