Tom, I have rarely used dymo tape. I prefer to use large sheets
of plastic with adhesive on the back. I think it's called
Braillabel and should be available from most places that sell
blind related writing products. You can roll it into a perkins
brailler, write your labels then take it out and cut the labels
to size. I use a cheap plastic paper cutter that can be obtained
from stationary stores that works very well and is safe to use.
Yah, it's sort of a hassle compared to dymo tape, but you can do
a lot with it that is lacking with dymo tape. 73, Jim WA6EKS

Subject: Anoying Dymo Labeling Tape Issue
Hello, all, and Happy Holidays!
=20
I have an annoying issue with some dymo labeling tape I recently
=
purchased.
=20
I have used the tape to label various buttons, switches, jacks,
and =
controls
on my MFJ998 auto-tuner and ALS600 amplifier.
=20
The problem with the tape is that it does not stick well to the
involved
surfaces on the equipment.
=20
The tape sticks on the ends, but not in the middle of the labels,
=
thereby
causing the middle of the labels to be raised slightly. I can
push the
labels down again, and the labels will stick for a while, but
eventually
will raise up in the middle again.
=20
I have done much labeling of equipment over the years, and have
only
experienced this problem relatively recently.
=20
I suspect that the labeling tape I have purchased most recently
is =
somehow
old or defective, but it is hard to know until you actually start
using =
it.
=20
I typically use the =BD-inch clear plastic variety.
=20
If anyone has a magical solution to this problem, or knows where
one can
still get good high-quality dymo labeling tape, please let me
know.
