Newer P25 sounds a lot better than old but still the P25 audio doesn’t even 
compare with NXDN or DMR which I don't care what anyone says they still 
sound digital to me but nowhere near as bad as DStar and P25. Yaesu's fusion 
sounds respectable as well but it's based off the newer P25 version

And what concerns me Jim is which digital protocole will
survive?  Yaesu has theirs and of course, Icom has Dstar, and
perhaps
that's not all the entries.  And our local police are a part of a
Motorola, state-wide P25 system and I struggle to hear what is

said.  These old ears don't hear all that well any more, even
with
overpriced hearing aids!
