Sorry for the delayed response, I've had a house full of grandchildren since
Saturday. I worked on the T-2C in VT-23 at Kingsville, TX, then the P-3B
in VP-17 at Barbers Point, HI, and finally The TA-4J in VT-7 at Meridian,
MS.
I would try to call you tomorrow, but I go to the local state veterans
center to visit the guy who enlisted with me many moons ago. He is bed
ridden due to a stroke that wiped out the whole left side of his body. So
if you still need to talk maybe we can do it on Thursday, let me know.

I served From 1976-1986, I was an Aviation Mechanic Structures (metal
smith), I was a QAR (Quality Assurance Representative), I chacked all
maintenance actions dealing with safety of flight. I went in for a routine
eye examination and a year later found myself on my way home with a seven
year old and a pregnant wife.
As for the ham stuff, I am getting back into the hobby after several years
of inactivity, and really can't speak to towers and beams. As for rigs and
accessories, I friend of mine in my local ham club helped me get a newer hf
rig for a pretty good price, but I discovered that it doesn't have a speech
board, and that most of the hf rigs made by yeasu are not designed to
provide speech readouts. I am however goinjg to try using the rig with my
CCTV. I'm hoping that my magnification needs aren't to high, thus making the
rig unuseable.
