David, I don't know any reason that it wouldn't work fine especially if you
could mount it so the ant was near vertical. Use low loss coax and it
should work fine. good luck. 73

Subject: antenna mounting question

Hello List:

I am currently situated in an apartment(one story), and was wondering about
the feasibility of mounting a vertical, dual band antenna(Comet gp-3 model
for example) to a disused, non-rotatable sattelite tv dish which I'm told is
attached to the building's roof. I believe that the antenna is close to 6
feet in length, and roof is 20-25 feet high. Has anyone had some practical
knowledge of doing this, and would it be a worthwhile endeavor for a dual
band transceiver base station?

Not sure of length/type of coax run I would need to where I hope to locate
my "shack". Any suggestions/advice welcome.

Best regards,

David S. Pearson-wa4dsp
