Steve:

When I sent my TS590 to the Kenwood East Service Center last Fall, they
upgraded my firmware to version 1.8, so that explains the difference.

Now that you have reminded me, the additional split frequency capabilities
with version 2.0 are a good reason to do the upgrade.

I need to do that one of these days.

So, thanks for the memory jog!

Tom,

Not sure what firmware you have. I'm pretty sure Lowell is pre 2.0 firmware.
In v 2.0 or later, a long press on the split - either long press and
release, or press and hold, and the voice will say "enter", and you hit the
number on the keypad for how many khz up you want the split. Hitting "5"
for example will put you up 5 . A leading zero will put you down for the
split Hitting "05" will put you down 5.

Of course on pre 2.0 firmware, none of this happens.

But you knew all that didn't you?
