Steve,
I am attaching a message this listserv got last summer. I think it
addresses your requirement for an inline power indicator. Retirement
stinks - I'm having to wait too long to get my ham toys, but this one
is near the top of the list.
Hope it helps.
Pat, K9JAU

Hello list,

I am producing the new version of the Audible Transmitter Output
Monitor (ATOM) for $100. This version can handle 1 kilowatt from 160
to 6 meters, has better QRP performance and is more stable over the
life of the battery. Unlike the old version, which was silent when
turned on, This unit ticks slowly with no signal so you'll never
forget to turn it off!

ATOM gives you a qualitative measure of RF power output when inserted
in a match line to a tuner or antenna. It is not an SWR meter. It can
also be used to tune old tube finals and as an excitation indicator
at the input of a linear amplifier. It can be very useful when
tracking the cause of a lack of RF in a signal path.

I have not updated my website yet, but I wanted you to know that the
new ATOM is being produced.

Thank you.
