Hi all!

I like this radio so much (or maybe it's so cheap) that I recently bought a
second one. 

I'm thinking about recording a podcast soon to demonstrate what I consider
as important features, including accessibility, but would like a bit of help
appreciating the alarm feature.

When I press and hold the button on the left side above the PTT, I hear
something that sounds like a car alarm.

Pressing the button again stops the sound.

I just can't think of a practical use for this feature. I know it works and
it's working as intended, but has anyone found a practical use for it? I
guess it would get attention quickly in a crowd that seem to ignore my
presence, but other than that little bit of fun, which admittedly is a
switch for the myriad of talking watches heard at big meetings of blind
people, does this handy feature have some practical purpose that I haven't
discovered?

In case anyone is looking for one, I boughnt my new one from 409shop.com for
around $35 including postage all the way to New Zealand. Thanks again Buddy
for that tip. Problems with the web site including captcha were easily
negated by Email. Once they understood what I wanted, they sent me a paypal
invoice, which I paid.

The radio was complete including belt clip duck antenna and appropriate
charger which I had specified in my order.
