Hi Jeff: 

I'm not a where of any blind accessible programming software for the FT-450. When I had mine, the Yaesu control program wasn't accessible and Ham Radio Delux couldn't program the rig either. I simply got my XYL to set up the rig the way I wanted with regards to the menu settings and went from there. 
Now they may have improved the Ham Radio Delux as its now a purchase for license and something might be done with more support. Also google the Yaesu FT-450 Yahoo group, they were very helpful for me getting started. I never really cared to mess around with the menu settings after initial set up as I had no problems with controlling the power output to drive my amp with the setdial option then the DSP button select knob combo. You might want to explore a QSYer but I think this may take up an accessory plug that runs an amp.
