Hi Harry,

I'm not sure if I understand your problem.  One possible solution would be to open the document where you are having trouble and use control plus the letter a to copy all of the text to the clipboard, and close Word Pad.  Open Word Pad again and use control plus the letter v to paste in the text.  See if that works.
