JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under direct supervision of the IT Director, provides support to 
South Carolina Commission for the Blind programs by responding to 
and diagnosing problems through discussions with users using 
problem recognition, research, isolation and resolution steps.  
Recommends improvement to the IT infrastructure with design 
configuration and strategic equipment upgrades.
MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma and experience in office automation 
systems, data communications system design, installation, 
operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of 
information in a data processing environment or related systems.  
An associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field 
may be substituted for the required work experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree in a computer related field.  Certification 
is a plus.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

Knowledge of data and voice networking.  Knowledge of hardware 
and software systems setup.  Knowledge of network security.  
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.  Ability to 
maintain good relationships and work effectively with users, 
vendors, and other IT personnel.  Ability to provide status 
reports and other technical and non-technical reports.  Travel is 
required and occasional overnight stays.  Occasional weekend and 
after hours' work may be required.  Position requires bending, 
stooping, standing, reaching transferring equipment and lifting 
up to 50 lbs.
