Along similar lines, I'm wondering how the Pearl compares to the
HoverCam T5-V, which costs about half of what the Pearl does. After much
web searching, I found a couple of forum posts that say the T5-V works
with Open Book and Kurzweil, so my question is more about how comparably
they scan. Is the quality of the OCR about the same, or does one involve
more proofreading/cleanup than the other?

this goes back to a previous thread. I'd like a camera to do some
scanning away from home, but I don't really need one. I'm not quite
willing to pay $700 for one, but I don't necessarily want to spend $300+
on something that I'll do a lot of grumbling about.

I guess I'm wondering if anyone has worked with both or been to
demonstrations of them.
